For summer days in Perth, clothes made of light materials are most appropriate. Sunglasses, caps or hats and sunscreens can also come in handy. Factor 30 sun creams are most advisable, considering that Australia and New Zealand are among the areas that receive the highest amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Because of this, skin protection is very important, especially during summer, when the city experiences the most generous amount of sunshine.
During winter, however, thicker clothes such as sweaters and overcoats are needed. Cold Perth weather is usually accompanied by rains, which often comes after sunset.
